We recommend allergy testing and immunotherapy for atopic patients that have severe allergy symptoms, symptoms not responding adequately to regular therapies, atopic patients experiencing recurrent secondary infections or symptoms requiring symptomatic management for greater than 6 months of the year. It is also suitable for animals whose owners are seeking a more natural, targeted therapy, wish to be pro-active, or wish to reduce their pet’s reliance on medications.

Allergen-specific immunotherapy works well for the majority of patients with more than two thirds of patients having >50% reduction in symptoms.

Most pets experience significantly reduced flare-ups of their allergies over time, leading to a much-improved quality of life with less discomfort.

Immunotherapy has also been shown to stop the progression of clinical signs which is an important consideration for young dogs as allergy symptoms can get worse year after year.
